Objective

Given the significance of Power sector reforms in the overall economic development of India, www.power.gen.in is an interactive platform introduced by Skoch Consultancy Services to address and highlight issues, policies and initiatives of this sector. In recent times, government of India has announced a series of important measures to improve power generation and to check distribution loses.

www.power.gen.in will track important policies like The Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Program or R-APDRP and Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana or RGGVY which will have long term impacts on the overall economy. Skoch Consultancy, recognizing the importance of this sector has taken it as an ongoing practice. In this direction,  The 19^th Skoch Summit held in New Delhi in January 2009 featured a dedicated track on “Focus: Gearing up Power sector” and subsequently carried an article titled “Power for all” in its quarterly magazine Inclusion.

 This portal will carry related news, articles and reports related to this sector. Periodically, field studies will be undertaken to monitor progress of reforms and projects in this sector.
